Construction of a runway of 3500m length and 75m width which will be able to accommodate code 4F Aircraft. A Stub Taxiway of 370m in length and 60m in width and an Apron with 10 parking positions will be done. A Passenger Terminal Building of 20,000 sq.m., a Cargo building of 10,000 sq.m and an Air traffic control tower at 35m height will be builded. State-of-the-art equipments will be provided to the air navigation system and Search and Surveillance System. ICAO category 1 Precision Approach lightings, ICAO category 1 ILS with DVOR and DME will be installed to enhance aviation safety. ICAO category 10, Fire fighting facility will be installed for fire and rescue operational. Duel lane ground access system will be available from Hambantota, Ebilipitiya, and Thanamalwila for connectivity and mobility to airport.
