.jpg) December 19 witnessed grand opening ceremony of Naypyidaw International Airport in Myanmar constructed by CHEC.
Sai Mauk Kham as Vice President of Burma and Dai Bingguo as a state councilor of China attended the opening ceremony and cut the color ribbons for starting using the new airport. The ceremony was also attended by Sun Ziyu as the Chief Engineer of CCCC and President of CHEC. On the ceremony, Sun Ziyu introduced CHEC's participation in the Project to the state councilor Dai Bingguo.
Adjacent to the old Naypyidaw Airport, Naypyidaw International Airport is 16km to the south of the urban area of the capital city . The new airport covers an area of 111,500 m2 and has a runway as long as 3.6 km. The airport is designed to receive 20 million passengers every year. It is the third largest airport in Myanmar. In recent years, the number of foreign tourists coming toMyanmar has significantly increased. Besides, The country will host South East Asia Games in 2013 and ASEAN Summit in 2014. Use of the new airport will satisfy the above needs. |
